INSTRUCTIONS




PRACTICAL
For Task 3, the last things that we had to do was to finish up anything leftover and to compile it all together. After meeting with our lecturers and presenting what we had in Task 2, the main focus during this time was to work on the animatics which our animation members were supposed to do. As for me, we felt that doing poses and expressions for the characters would be good to have.

When it came to doing the expressions and poses, I decided to do both of them in the same art board to save space since I didn't have much time left before I needed to finish all of them. For his poses I tried to do simple ones to showcase how the clothing would move and interact with his body. For his expressions I did some basic facial expressions for him just to showcase his range of emotions.

When it came to Agnes, I used a lot of references to try and show how her dress would look like visually whenever it moves. For her expressions I did the same thing as Kellie where I used simple emotions just to show how her face moves. I only did poses / expressions for Kellie and Agnes as they have the most screentime narratively so it was only logical for them to have the most effort done for them compared to other characters.

REFLECTION

Overall I found this task to be the hardest of the three as it required me to draw the characters in slightly more dynamic poses than the default still poses that they had for the turnarounds, especially since my understanding of basic anatomy and how to draw movement is quite below average. Just because I did entertainment design does not mean that my artistry levels are at a high enough level for me to do this with ease, I've always managed to just get by with what I can do. 

I do wish that I was able to contribute more during this module but there's going to be a lot more chances for me to contribute in Major Project 2 as I have to create the character models in 3D which is my worst aspect by far so I'll have to pick up the pace and learn basic 3D modelling during the time between Major Project 1 and Major Project 2.
